Cool Max, Nylon, Lycra products do not absorb and hold water. These materials help with evaporation by wicking moisture to the surface. This provides “evaporative cooling” (Like a swamp cooler) so you are cooler! Even something like pantyhose with a high Lycra content will make you cooler in the hot sun than not wearing any due to the evaporative effect! (Not worn under other clothing or it will be hotter due to no evaporation). This is something most won’t believe but it is because of wicking moisture to the surface. Runners and cyclist use these materials for a reason! They never use cotton unless amateur and uninformed.
